Mobilewalla's Recent Papers on Age and Gender Modeling and Brand Propensity Prediction Accepted for Publication by IEEE

Mobilewalla, the leading global consumer intelligence platform, is pleased to announce that two of its newest papers, “Predicting Age & Gender of Mobile Users at Scale - A Distributed Machine Learning Approach” and “Predicting Consumer Level Brand Preferences Using Persistent Mobility Patterns,” have been selected for publication at the 2018 IEEE International Conference on Big Data.

Each paper went through a rigorous review process and were among industry & government track full paper submissions received by IEEE this year. Both papers were proudly presented at the recent IEEE conference in Seattle, WA, USA and will be accessible online in January 2019 at the IEEE Xplore Digital Library.

Predicting Age & Gender of Mobile Users at Scale - A Distributed Machine Learning Approach

“Predicting Age & Gender of Mobile Users at Scale - A Distributed Machine Learning Approach”, accepted as a regular paper, proposes a scalable machine learning approach to infer the age and gender of mobile users. It has successfully tested and implemented the gender prediction model for eight countries, as well as laid out the groundwork for implementation of age inference. The output is integrated with Mobilewalla’s commercial audience segmentation products and is further used as a part of custom client deliveries.

Predicting Consumer Level Brand Preferences Using Persistent Mobility Patterns

The second work, “Predicting Consumer Level Brand Preferences Using Persistent Mobility Patterns”, selected as a short paper, proposes a methodology to predict the individual level consumer brand preference based on the historical brand visitation patterns. Mobilewalla believes that this is the first attempt and successful deployment to predict individual consumer level brand preference at a large scale.

The papers are authored by a team of Engineers and Data Scientists at Mobilewalla: Dr. Anindya Datta, Dr. Kajanan Sangaralingam, Nisha Verma, Aravind Ravi, and Varun Chugh.

“I feel proud that Mobilewalla's scientific innovations are being placed alongside work performed at the best universities in the world, as well as the most advanced scientific organizations. This is also an evidence of the rigor and sophistication of the work we do,” said Anindya Datta, Mobilewalla CEO and founder.
